Equi’s ice cream will be sold in Sainsbury’s stores for the first time

A Scottish ice cream maker has introduced a night shift to its production lines after securing a transformational deal to supply Sainsbury’s supermarkets across Scotland.

Equi’s Ice Cream said the contract represents a key step for the company as it targets £6 million turnover by 2027.

It is the first time that the firm’s products will be sold by Sainsbury’s as its aspires to sell across the UK and internationally. The new listing will see Equi’s implement night shifts at its factory in Rutherglen.

“This partnership with Sainsbury’s is a huge moment for us,” said David Equi, CEO. “We’re excited not only for the immediate opportunities of partnering with such a renowned retailer, but also for the long-term growth potential it brings.”
